JSNMA is the flagship publication of the Student National Medical Association (SNMA). As the voice of the SNMA, it serves as an educational and outreach tool to upcoming doctors and researchers. Journal topics include medical education, research, health advocacy, career opportunities, cultural competency and community outreach. As a print publication, the JSNMA reached over 8,000 student health professionals, physicians, deans and executives.

JSNMA.org includes interactive tools to engage readers in discussion of hot topics and educates about trends in medical education and health care delivery. JSNMA reaches a wide and diverse audience by utilizing its robust social networks. JSNMA maintains a semiannual publication calendar with interim content updates providing real-time access to news and information via laptops and smart phones.

Comfort Elumogo obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from Northwestern University. She is currently a third year student at Case Western University School of Medicine. During the 2013-2014 school year she served as Co-president for the Case Western SNMA chapter. She also served as a Future Leadership Project fellow on both the regional and national level. Her goal is to increase the visibility of JSNMA as well as sustaining other projects the publication committee is currently involved in. Jonathan Ryan Batson

Jonathan Ryan Batson obtained his Bachelor of Science in Biology with double minors in Public Health and Sociology/Anthropology from Florida International University in 2013. He previously served as the President of the Florida International University’s chapter of the Minority Association of Premedical Students (M.A.P.S.) that was awarded the distinction of “2011-2012 Student National Medical Association Region IV MAPS Chapter of the Year”, recognized by the Florida International University’s Council for Student Organizations as the 2011-2012 Outstanding Leader of the Year, and received the Dr. Gina Morgan-Smith Promising Premedical Student Award (Pre- Medical Student Scholarship) by the James Wilson Bridges M.D. Medical Society (JWBMS) chapter of the National Medical Association (2012). He is currently pursuing a Masters of Science in Biomedical Sciences at Barry University in Miami, Florida. His main goal as the Co-Chairperson this academic year is to work on providing resources for our Medical & Pre-Medical membership as well as using his background in Public-Health to include a social component of healthcare to the Journal of the Student National Medical Association.
