As the first half of the academic year has come to a close, we reflect with the “Holiday Edition” of the MAPS Minutes to give our pre-medical /pre-health membership a publication with interesting articles, list of opportunities, and some National MAPS webinars focused on MCAT preparation, etc. In this issue, we learn about the community service activities done by the University of North Carolina – Wilmington MAPS chapter, leadership and summer program opportunities for premed and pre-health students, an inspirational story from a former undergraduate student at Morehouse College on his journey to become a student physician at Boston University School of Medicine, and also a list of national webinars (free for all to see) about MCAT preparation, etc. We also have an update from the Premedical Board Member (PMBM), Johnothan Smileye on the state of National MAPS, as well as a call for submission for the JSNMA Spring 2014 edition (which deadline is coming up on January 31st) . We at the MAPS and Publications Committees hope that you enjoy the Winter 2013 edition of the MAPS Minutes and feel compelled to help contribute to our future publications (which you can find out more about by emailing the us at either email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org). Also, please send this to all premedical and prehealth students that you know to help share the knowledge that you have gained from this newsletter.
